Photo Facial
Photo facial refers to a light-based skin resurfacing treatment which is commonly used for the treatment of brown spots, broken capillaries and to enhance collagen.
There are two main types of photo facials namely; LED (Light-emitting diode) and IPL (Intense-pulsed light).
LED photo facials - LED photo facials are offered generally by day spas or medi-spas. The LED photo facial uses a narrow spectrum of light to augment collagen. This restores the youthful appearance, revitalizes the skin and can also be used to eliminate the bacteria that cause acne. LED photo facials do not cause pain, are cool and relaxing, and do not carry the risk of burning. A series of six treatments will ensure the best results with a gap of one or two weeks between treatments.
IPL photo facials - An intense pulsed-light or IPL photo facial helps in the treatment of skin conditions such as brown spots, broken capillaries, spider veins and facial redness. In this process, a bright stream of light is emitted at extremely high energy levels through hand-held equipment. This treatment might sometimes be rather painful or uncomfortable.
The type of treatment recommended differs based on the type of skin, the condition you're treating and the results you desire to achieve.
